[4-2-3-1]: Leandro Trossard returned, William Saliba starts, and Bukayo Saka benched- Arsenal predicted lineups vs Brentford as Mikel Arteta welcomed back many injured players

Posted on December 3, 2025 by boss

Arsenal are preparing for a Wednesday night clash against Brentford which could take them eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners didn’t manage to capitalise against a 10-man Chelsea on Sunday afternoon as they only drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge. Mikel Arteta’s side missed on the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points, and are now just five ahead of Manchester City.

Arsenal will hope to get back to winning ways against Brentford in midweek, but they do have injury problems with the likes of Gabriel and William Saliba both dealing with issues.

Lewis-Skelly comes into the Arsenal defence

GK – David Raya – Raya made a few good saves against Chelsea, and will hope to get the better of his former team on Wednesday.

LB – Myles Lewis-Skelly – Lewis-Skelly could replace Riccardo Calafiori, who is one yellow card away from a Premier League suspension.

CB – Cristhian Mosquera – The Spanish centre-back keeps his place in defence as Gabriel will certainly be unavailable.

CB – Piero Hincapie – It is uncertain whether Saliba will be available, so Arteta could decide to keep Piero Hincapie in too.

RB – Jurrien Timber – Timber has arguably been Arsenal’s best player this season. He is expected to keep his place in the starting XI.

Merino starts in the attacking midfield role

CM – Martin Zubimendi – Zubimendi has been great this year, and he is expected to keep his place against Brentford.

CM – Declan Rice – Rice will hope to make an impact against the Bees, especially from set pieces, as he manages to do so effectively.

CAM – Mikel Merino – Merino starts here to give Eberechi Eze a rest, and also because he scored against Chelsea.

Madueke hands Bukayo Saka a rest

LW – Leandro Trossard – Trossard comes back into the starting XI after he missed the Chelsea game with an injury.

RW – Noni Madueke – Madueke comes in on the right-wing to allow Saka to rest ahead of Aston Villa at the weekend.

ST – Viktor Gyokeres – Gyokeres comes back into the starting lineup as he has returned from his injury.
