Arsenal moved nine points clear at the top of the Premier League following a 3-0 win over Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The Gunners had a tricky challenge against the Black Cats and had to wait until the 42nd minute to break the deadlock through Martin Zubimendi.
Trossard delivered the assist for the Spanish star, who scored with a sublime low shot from outside the box, with the help of the woodwork.
Arsenal eventually doubled their lead through Viktor Gyokeres in the 66th minute. Kai Havertz provided the assist after a lovely through ball by Trossard.
Gyokeres put the game beyond sight from a superb counter-attack by Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian put the ball on the plate for the Swede to tap home.
Gyokeres bagged the man of the match for his second-half brace, but the accolade could have easily gone to Zubimendi or Trossard on another day.
Trossard did not find the back of the net yesterday, but the Belgian winger created four chances and was a key catalyst behind Arsenal’s first two goals. He made five recoveries too.
Towards the end, the £27 million signing was substituted due to a possible injury concern, and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit for the Brentford trip.
Arsenal’s next league game is not until Thursday evening. Trossard has some time to recover ahead of the London derby against the Bees at the Vitality Stadium.
The Gunners are nine points clear at the top of the table. Manchester City have the opportunity to lower the gap with a positive result against Liverpool today.
