Declan Rice, an Arsenal midfielder, had a standout performance in Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win over Wolves.
The England international has been a crucial member in Arsenal’s midfield this season, and he delivered another impressive performance at the Molineux Stadium.
The Gunners needed a win to stay in the league title chase, and Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard scored to help them do just that.
Aside from the duo, Rice performed admirably from the center of the park. He began as a defensive midfielder but had the freedom to move forward. He made a few tries on goal.
Declan Rice won his 8th MOTM Premier League award this season against Wolves.
In the second half, he continued to perform similarly. His influence heightened in the last 15 minutes, when he made multiple lung-bursting sprints following Thomas Partey’s arrival.
Rice completed five important passes against the Wolves. One of them contributed to Odegaard’s late goal.
Aside from that, the 25-year-old made 73 touches. He completed 90% of his passes, earning four tackles and six duels against Gary O’Neil’s team.
The club’s record acquisition has not been at his best in recent games, but he was able to step up in a potentially challenging encounter against Wolves.
The Midlands outfit is a difficult opponent to face at the Molineux, as they demonstrated once more despite having several players on the bench.
Arsenal has regained the top spot, at least momentarily, following their victory over Wolves. On Tuesday, they will meet their London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
