“I’m a Man Utd legend but I’ll never be biased with my prediction, they are definitely going win it”: Wayne Rooney drops his unbiased prediction on who’s going to win Premier League this season

Wayne Rooney Makes Premier League Title Race Prediction as Manchester City Apply Pressure on Arsenal.

Former Manchester United captain and England legend Wayne Rooney has weighed in on the intensifying Premier League title race, delivering a clear verdict as Manchester City once again emerge as Arsenal’s biggest threat in the battle for domestic supremacy.

Speaking after Manchester City’s commanding victory that kept them firmly within touching distance of the league leaders, Rooney acknowledged the familiar pattern developing at the top of the table. Arsenal may currently sit in pole position, but City’s relentless consistency and experience in high-pressure run-ins mean the race is far from over.

According to Rooney, the title is Arsenal’s to lose, but only if they can withstand the psychological strain that inevitably comes with being chased by Pep Guardiola’s side. The former striker stressed that Manchester City have repeatedly shown their ability to go on long winning runs during the second half of the season, a trait that has undone Arsenal and others in recent campaigns.

“City know exactly what it takes,” Rooney explained. “They don’t panic, they don’t drop their levels, and they have players who can decide big games at any moment. That’s what makes them so dangerous.”

Rooney pointed to Erling Haaland’s goalscoring power, the tactical intelligence of Guardiola, and City’s depth across all areas as reasons why Arsenal cannot afford any slip-ups. Even a short run of draws, he warned, could be enough for City to capitalise and take control of the race.

However, Rooney was equally impressed by Arsenal’s development under Mikel Arteta. He praised the Gunners’ defensive structure, their improved game management, and the growing leadership within the squad. In his view, Arsenal now look more mature than in previous seasons, better equipped to handle pressure moments that once cost them dearly.

“There’s a different feel about Arsenal this year,” Rooney said. “They’re not just playing well, they’re finding ways to win games when they’re not at their best. That’s a big sign of a title-winning team.”

Rooney also highlighted the importance of Arsenal’s senior players stepping up during the final stretch of the season. With crucial fixtures ahead and the margin for error shrinking, he believes leadership, composure, and mentality will ultimately decide the destination of the trophy.

Despite City’s ominous presence, Rooney insisted that Arsenal still hold the advantage. Being top of the table gives them control, and if they can maintain their focus, avoid injuries, and manage the pressure, the title should remain within reach.

“Manchester City will push them all the way,” Rooney concluded. “But Arsenal are in front for a reason. If they stay strong mentally and keep doing what they’re doing, this could finally be their year.”

As the season heads into its decisive phase, the Premier League looks set for another thrilling finish — with Arsenal determined to resist a familiar Manchester City charge and prove that this time, the outcome will be different.
