Shedeur Sanders Gets Draft Warning from Ex-Giants Coach with Inside Knowledge

Posted on April 10, 2025 by admin

With the NFL draft looming, Shedeur Sanders is facing some serious criticism, especially regarding his athleticism and arm strength. But Pat Shurmur, former Giants coach and current offensive coordinator at Colorado, isn’t buying it. He pushed back on the negative talk, especially after Sanders’ impressive college career.

“I think the 31 teams that pass on him will regret it,” Shurmur said. “He’s got a strong arm, he can make every throw, and his timing and ability to scramble are top-notch. Just look at how Patrick Mahomes operates in the pocket — Shedeur can do that too.”

Despite the doubts, Sanders, who led Colorado to a 13-11 record, has fans in high places. Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton also jumped to his defense, mocking critics who focus on minor details like Sanders’ ball-patting before a throw.

While his stats are solid — 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, and a 71.8% completion rate — the question remains: Will the Giants use their No. 3 pick on him? Only time will tell.
