BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal completes the signing of £111million super-talented attacker who’s s strong Ballon d’Or contender this season

Posted on May 5, 2026 by admin

Arsenal have held ‘positive talks’ with the representatives of Newcastle United left-back Tino Livramento about his potential transfer to the Emirates Stadium next summer, according to Football Transfers.

Livramento came through the ranks at Chelsea’s renowned Cobham Academy before completing a switch to Southampton in 2021. However, his spell at St Mary’s Stadium was heavily interrupted by a serious knee problem that kept him out for more than a year.

A move to Newcastle followed in 2023, where he has flourished under Eddie Howe, playing his part in the club’s landmark Carabao Cup triumph against Liverpool last season, contributing to their return to the UEFA Champions League, and maintaining strong performances in the current campaign.

Throughout this season, the English fullback has made 26 appearances for the Magpies, mainly on the right flank, while also showing he can operate on the left when needed.

Now, according to Football Transfers, Arsenal have held ‘positive talks’ with Livramento’s entourage over his potential transfer to the Emirates Stadium next summer.

The Premier League leaders are exploring the transfer market for a potential replacement for Ben White, who is expected to depart next summer, with the 23-year-old now being eyed, the report adds.

‘Positive talks’

The report adds that Arsenal hold a firm interest in Livramento despite his persistent injuries and have now held ‘in-depth’ talks with the player’s camp, which have been described as ‘positive’ so far.

While talks with Newcastle, who are adamant about retaining the fullback, would be a different matter, there’s optimism that the England international is ‘keen’ on moving to the Emirates in the summer, which would make agreeing personal terms easy, according to Football Transfers.

Livramento fits the mould of an archetypal player to thrive under Mikel Arteta’s tactical system. He possesses blistering pace, is solid defensively, particularly in one-vs-one situations, is reliable in attack and can play on both sides.

His versatility is synonymous with that of Jurrien Timber, who can also play on either side of the backline, and he would be a viable option to compete with the Dutchman should White depart in the summer.

However, a deal won’t be easy, as Newcastle have proved to be hard negotiators over the summer, as evidenced by the record-breaking sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.

As such, Arsenal will need to submit a significant offer well above Livramento’s £34m Transfermarkt valuation to convince the Magpies to sell the Englishman in the summer.
