BREAKING: Leny Yoro says he will leave Man United if the Glazers….see more

Posted on October 30, 2026 by admin

Manchester United are facing another potential problem behind the scenes, with Leny Yoro reportedly considering his future at Old Trafford amid growing concerns about his playing time and development.

The French defender, who arrived at the club with enormous expectations, is increasingly being linked with a possible departure as uncertainty continues to surround Manchester United’s defensive situation.

Yoro joined Manchester United from Lille in 2024 for a reported fee of approximately £52 million, becoming one of the most exciting young defensive prospects in European football. His arrival was considered an important investment in the club’s long-term future, with the expectation that he would eventually become a central figure in United’s defence.

However, his development has not been as straightforward as many supporters expected. Despite showing glimpses of his enormous potential, the youngster has struggled to establish himself as an undisputed starter, particularly under Michael Carrick.

The situation has become increasingly frustrating as Yoro continues to compete with experienced defenders for a place in the starting eleven. Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez have received significant opportunities, while Yoro has occasionally been required to operate at right-back rather than his preferred central defensive position.

Recent performances have also placed additional pressure on the young Frenchman. His mistake during Manchester United’s disappointing 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth attracted criticism, although many supporters believe it would be unfair to judge such a young defender based on individual mistakes.

There are growing reports that Yoro could consider leaving if his situation does not improve, especially if he continues struggling to receive regular opportunities in his natural position.

The situation has reportedly attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain previously linked with monitoring his circumstances. AC Milan have also emerged as potential admirers, with reports suggesting that former United manager Ruben Amorim would welcome the opportunity to work with the defender again.

For Manchester United, losing Yoro would represent a significant decision considering the investment made in securing his signature. The club initially viewed him as one of the foundations of its defensive future, and allowing him to leave before reaching his full potential could become a major talking point.

However, football is a business where players need opportunities to develop, and Yoro will understandably want to play regularly at the highest level.

Michael Carrick now faces an important decision regarding the defender’s future. He must determine whether Yoro deserves more opportunities at centre-back or whether the club should consider a temporary loan arrangement to help him gain valuable experience.

Manchester United supporters are also divided over the situation. While some believe the youngster needs more time and patience, others argue that the club must prioritise experienced defenders capable of delivering consistent performances during this difficult period.

The possibility of a January departure has therefore become another issue for the club to monitor as preparations for the next transfer window approach.

Nevertheless, Yoro remains a highly rated young defender with considerable potential, and Manchester United would need to think carefully before making any permanent decision about his future.

With interest from European clubs reportedly increasing, the coming months could become decisive for the Frenchman’s career at Old Trafford.

For now, the biggest question is whether Manchester United can convince Yoro that his future remains at the club or whether the defender will eventually decide that leaving is the best option for his development.
