BREAKING: English FA clears Max Dowman to play against….see more

Posted on October 31, 2026 by admin

There has been a major development concerning Arsenal’s preparations for their Premier League showdown against Liverpool, with reports surrounding Max Dowman’s availability attracting significant attention.

However, the latest decision has gone against Arsenal, as the Football Association has rejected the club’s appeal and confirmed that the 16-year-old will remain suspended for Sunday’s encounter at Anfield.

Arsenal had hoped to overturn the controversial red card Dowman received during their Carabao Cup defeat against Fleetwood Town. The teenager was dismissed following an incident involving Harrison Neal, which sparked considerable debate among Arsenal supporters and football pundits.

Following the dismissal, Arsenal immediately challenged the decision, arguing that the punishment was excessive considering the circumstances surrounding the incident. The club believed Dowman had been subjected to a reckless challenge before reacting emotionally.

However, the independent regulatory commission rejected Arsenal’s appeal, confirming that both the red card and the three-match domestic suspension would stand.

The decision means Dowman will miss Sunday’s important Premier League meeting with Liverpool, despite Arsenal’s efforts to make him available.

For Mikel Arteta, this represents another frustrating setback at a time when his attacking options are already being affected by injuries and suspension.

The Arsenal manager will now have to consider alternative solutions, particularly with Bukayo Saka also unavailable. Losing another young attacking option could complicate his plans against a Liverpool side that will be determined to take advantage of playing at Anfield.

Dowman’s absence is particularly disappointing because the teenager has demonstrated remarkable confidence and technical ability whenever he has received opportunities in Arsenal’s first team.

His ability to take on defenders, create opportunities and operate in dangerous attacking areas has made him one of the most exciting young prospects at the club.

Nevertheless, Arsenal will have to move forward without him for Sunday’s encounter.

Arteta has also made it clear that Dowman must learn from the incident, emphasising the importance of emotional control and understanding the physical demands of elite football.

The suspension does not extend to European competitions, meaning Dowman remains eligible for Arsenal’s Champions League fixture against Slavia Prague.

Meanwhile, Arsenal supporters will be hoping that the remaining attacking players can deliver an impressive performance against Liverpool.

The Liverpool encounter is particularly important for Arsenal’s title ambitions, and Arteta knows that dropping points could create an opportunity for their rivals.

Although Dowman will not be involved, the youngster will undoubtedly be watching closely as his teammates attempt to secure a positive result at Anfield.

For now, Arsenal must accept the FA’s decision and concentrate on preparing for one of their biggest matches of the season.
