ARSENAL put the pressure on Manchester City in the title chase with a 3-0 defeat of Bournemouth.
Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, and Declan Rice all scored to secure an overwhelming victory at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. Arsenal are now FOUR points ahead of defending champions City, who have one game in hand and face Wolves this afternoon. But who was the best player on Mikel Arteta’s team? Did anyone have a game to forget.
DAVID RAYA: 7/10
I spent the first half as a spectator. In the 53rd minute, he was called into action to defend Dominic Solanke’s near post goal.
TAKEHIRO TOMIYASU – 7
Rewarded with another start at left-back, he nearly slipped in at the back post with a header from a corner in the first half.
WILLIAM SALIBA – 8
Given a rollicking from Arteta inside the first few minutes for not being аggressive enough. Responded with a goal-saving tackle on Solanke, and nearly scored himself. As Arsenal fell down after the interval, Saliba’s comeback runs and tackles were invaluable.
Gabriel – 6.
In the 17th minute, he almost cost his team the game by sloppily squandering the ball in defence. Fortunately for him, Saliba was there to save the day.
Was then involved in a nasty altercation in which Bournemouth scored but were inexplicably rejected by VAR, who also threw out his magnificent goal for offside.
