“He played like a prime Messi yesterday, I will never forget him in a hurry”: Tottenham Hotspur coach Igor Tudor names ONE Arsenal’s player who destroyed his team yesterday

Posted on February 23, 2026 by admin

Tottenham Hotspur manager Igor Tudor has delivered an honest reaction after Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Spurs in the Premier League yesterday.

The Gunners returned to winning ways with a comfortable victory over Spurs on the road.

Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres stood out with two goals apiece. Kolo Muani scored the consolation for Spurs after a surprise Declan Rice error.

Speaking after the game, Tudor had no qualms in admitting that Arsenal were the better side in the north London derby and his team were outclassed.

The Croatian tactician said that the Gunners were ‘much better’ and acknowledged that there is ‘too much’ of a gap between the clubs this season.

He added that Spurs prepared for the last four to five days for the derby, but Arsenal were stronger, more powerful and showed more energy on the pitch.

He told Sky Sports (via BBC Sport): “I’m sad because it was not good enough. Arsenal was much better. At this moment, there is too much gap between the two teams.

“It’s good to show and to see this kind of team, the start to show us where we need to be. It’s about work, to start to work hard because we struggle in a lot of things for sure.

“We prepared these four, five days but they were faster, even I can say that the players showed the passion, they wanted to run, but we pressed high.

“They are stronger, they have more power, more energy. They believe more, that is the key in the end is they believe more. And that’s it, so take the lessons.”

Arsenal were expected to face a potential banana skin against Spurs, particularly after the latter appointed a new manager in Tudor to replace Thomas Frank at the helm.

Tudor was handed more than a week to prepare for the north London derby. Spurs still struggled to cope with Arsenal’s quality over 90 minutes despite the home advantage.

Arsenal were not at their vintage best and had a few defensive mishaps, but overall they rose to the occasion and got the job done with a routine win over Tottenham.

Manager Mikel Arteta has now secured five-straight victories over Spurs. The latest win sees Arsenal five points clear at the top of the league ahead of Manchester City.

The Cityzens have a match in hand against Crystal Palace yet to be rescheduled, but having a five-point advantage is a confidence booster for the final season stretch.

Arsenal have another London derby against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Man City will be in action against Leeds United at Elland Road, 24 hours earlier.
