“We will win this match tomorrow unless Mikel Arteta starthim because he was the reason we couldn’t beat Bayer Leverkusen”: Ian Wright names ONE Arsenal’s player who must be dropped tomorrow or Arsenal risks dropping points tomorrow

Posted on March 13, 2026 by admin

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made his prediction for the Gunners’ Premier League clash against Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s side are presently seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand against Crystal Palace, yet to be rescheduled.

The Gunners will be in action against the Toffees at home this weekend. Ahead of the encounter, Wright has stated his prediction and believes Arsenal should come on top.

The 62-year-old highlighted that Arsenal have always done well against the Toffees, he said on the Stick to Football podcast today: “Scored my most goals against Everton.

“Arsenal have always done well against Everton. I broke Everton hearts on a regular basis. We are going to beat them, I think.”

Wright initially went for a 3-0 victory, but eventually backed the Gunners to secure a 2-0 win.

Arsenal had a run of four defeats in five meetings against Everton between 2020 and 2023, but are unbeaten in the previous six encounters between the clubs.

The London giants shared the spoils in both matches last season, but managed to beat the Toffees on the road earlier this term after Viktor Gyokeres’ penalty goal.

The Gunners were far from their best against David Moyes’ side, but were relatively comfortable holding onto the lead. The Toffees failed to register a shot on target.

Despite this, Arsenal can’t take things for granted. They need a quick start with a goal on Saturday, or the Toffees could prove a tough opposition to break down with their defensive solidity.

Everton are fourth in the form table away from home with 24 points from 14 matches this term. They will be determined to make it hard for the Gunners at the Emirates.

Last season’s meeting at the stadium ended in a frustrating goalless stalemate after a stellar showing from Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who made five big saves.

Arsenal have the opportunity to go 10 points clear at the top with a win before the Cityzens take on a resurgent West Ham side at the London Stadium on Saturday night.
