“I’m a Manchester United legend but I can’t be biased…Arsenal will win those trophies this season”: Wayne Rooney predicts how many trophies Arsenal will win this season as the Gunners are tipped to make history

Posted on March 22, 2026 by admin

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has predicted how many trophies Arsenal could win this season.

The Gunners have had a fabulous campaign under manager Mikel Arteta, and they are still competing in four competitions.

The club recently booked their spot in the Champions League quarter-final with a 3-1 aggregate win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Arsenal take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final today, and ahead of the game, Rooney has made his prediction.

Speaking to Prime Video Sport UK, Rooney said that Arsenal could win the FA Cup and Premier League.

Arsenal face the Cityzens in the League Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

The Gunners are slight favourites for the encounter, and will aim to beat Pep Guardiola’s side to secure their first piece of silverware since the 2020 FA Cup final against Chelsea.

A victory today would be a huge confident boost for the club as they chase more trophies. Arsenal are well-placed to win the Premier League after a two-decade-long wait.

They have a handy nine-point lead over second-placed Man City, who have a game in hand. With seven matches remaining, Arsenal won’t get a better chance to win the league.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are just three wins away from a record 15th FA Cup title. They should be clear-cut favourites to beat Southampton away in the quarter-final of the Cup competition.

Arsenal still have much work to do, given they could meet the likes of Man City, Liverpool or Chelsea in the last four. The club’s faithful would no doubt love another Wembley final.

The Champions League is probably the hardest competition to win this term. With Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona peaking at the right time, Arsenal are definitely not favourites and would surprise many if they go on to lift a maiden Champions League title.
