“To be honest, if Mikel Arteta doesn’t change that fast, we’ll lost the Premier League title race”: Ian Wright has revealed what must be changed at Arsenal before their title deciding match against Manchester City

Ian Wright has delivered a brutally honest assessment of Arsenal’s Premier League title chances—and it’s not exactly encouraging for fans.

The former striker admitted that watching his old club right now is “killing” him, as he struggles to see any signs that they can go on and win the title. His concern isn’t about talent or position in the table—it’s about performances.

According to Wright, Arsenal’s recent displays have lacked conviction, attacking threat, and the kind of authority you expect from a title-winning side. He openly said he’s “not seeing anything” in their play that convinces him they can consistently beat teams during this crucial run-in.

That criticism comes despite the Gunners still being in a strong position across competitions. They recently secured a place in the Champions League semi-finals, but even that achievement was overshadowed by an unconvincing performance in a goalless draw.

Wright’s frustration reflects a deeper issue—Arsenal’s form has dipped at the worst possible time. A string of underwhelming results, including domestic cup disappointments and a league defeat, has raised doubts about their ability to handle pressure when it matters most.

One of his biggest concerns is the team’s mentality. He pointed out that when you’re chasing a title, you need to impose yourself on games. Instead, Arsenal look nervous and reactive, rather than dominant. He even suggested that players need to take more responsibility on the pitch, regardless of the manager’s tactical setup.

This isn’t the first time Wright has raised alarm bells. In recent weeks, he has also spoken about “nervous” performances and a lack of composure in key moments—signs that could prove costly in a tight title race.

The timing couldn’t be worse. With a decisive clash against Manchester City looming, many see it as a potential title decider. If Arsenal continue to play without cutting edge or confidence, Wright’s fears could quickly become reality.

In simple terms, his message is clear: being top of the table isn’t enough—you have to play like champions. Right now, in his eyes, Arsenal aren’t doing that.
