DEAL AGREED: Arsenal finally agree the deal to sign European most wanted attacker who has more goals and assists than every wingers this season

Posted on May 7, 2026 by admin

Arsenal have expressed interest in signing FC Porto’s exciting midfielder Victor Froholdt next summer, according to Danish outlet Bold.dk.

Coming through the academy ranks at Copenhagen, Froholdt has developed into the latest highly regarded Danish talent to break through, following a path similar to Rasmus Højlund, who is currently with Napoli.

Before leaving Denmark, he produced an outstanding campaign in the domestic top flight, playing a major role in Byens Hold’s record 16th league title.

A summer move to FC Porto followed, and he wasted little time settling in, quickly becoming a regular fixture in midfield under Francesco Farioli as the side challenged near the summit of the table.

Having already featured in 50 matches across all competitions, the Denmark international has contributed eight goals and six assists and has been crucial to Porto’s historic 31st Primeira Liga title win this season.

Now, according to Bold.dk, several top European clubs, including Arsenal, are keeping close tabs on Froholdt ahead of next summer.

The Danish outlet adds that the north London club have indicated a ‘great interest’ in signing the 20-year-old midfielder to reinforce their squad next summer.

However, Premier League rivals Liverpool and Newcastle United have also shown interest in the Danish international and are set to battle with the Gunners for his signature in the summer, according to the report.

‘Great interest’
With four years left in his contract, Froholdt won’t come cheap, with the report adding that Porto have inserted 635m Danish krone into his contract, which equates to 73m in pounds.

For only the second time in their history, Arsenal have booked a place in the UEFA Champions League final after edging past Atlético Madrid 1-0 at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, sealing a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Awaiting the Gunners in the final are Paris Saint-Germain, who advanced after a dramatic 6-5 semi-final triumph over FC Bayern Munich.

Both clubs are set to meet in Budapest on May 30, with Mikel Arteta’s side aiming to win the competition for the first time.

The occasion also arrives almost exactly two decades after the North London side’s only previous Champions League final appearance, coming in a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at Stade de France.

They’re also on course for the Premier League title as they currently sit five points above second-placed Manchester City with three games to go.
