ARSENAL DEFENDER BEN WHITE MISSES ENGLAND DUTY AGAIN AS INJURY RULES HIM OUT
Arsenal defender Ben White will once again miss out on England duty after being ruled unavailable because of an injury.
The 28-year-old was expected to be part of Thomas Tuchel’s England plans, but his latest setback has prevented him from joining the squad for the September–October international window.
White’s absence is particularly notable because he had returned to England contention earlier this year and had been enjoying an important role for Arsenal at the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign.
England manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that White had been unavailable when the squad was selected, describing the situation as unfortunate for the defender.
The Arsenal right-back suffered a groin problem during the club’s 2–0 victory over Sunderland. He was forced to leave the game at half-time, with Jurrien Timber coming on to replace him.
Timber subsequently returned to the starting lineup against Brighton, although Arsenal suffered a 3–0 defeat in that match.
The latest reports suggest there is some optimism surrounding White’s recovery. Arsenal reportedly do not believe the injury is particularly serious, and he could potentially return after the international break if his rehabilitation continues as expected.
However, the exact return date has not been officially confirmed, so supporters will have to wait for further updates from the club.
White’s absence also comes at a time when Arsenal are carefully managing their defensive options. Timber is still being monitored after his long injury lay-off, while Arsenal have several other defenders available to Mikel Arteta.
For England, White’s omission means the Three Lions will continue with other defensive options during the Nations League campaign.
The official England squad includes Arsenal players Ezri Konsa and Myles Lewis-Skelly, while Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze are also part of the squad.
For Arsenal supporters, the main priority will be seeing White make a full recovery rather than rushing back too soon. If he is fit after the international break, his return could give Arteta another experienced option in defence.
