Michael Carrick has reportedly made a major admission about Manchester United’s midfield, claiming that a partnership between Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos may never work effectively despite the quality of both players.
The revelation would come as a major surprise to Manchester United supporters, particularly after the club invested heavily in rebuilding the midfield during the summer transfer window. Tielemans and Santos were among the first major additions to Carrick’s new-look squad, with the manager expected to use their different qualities to transform the way United control matches.
However, according to the reported scenario, Carrick now believes that putting the two players together in the same midfield could create more problems than solutions.
