Arsenal are showing an interest in signing one Newcastle star in the summer transfer window, and according to an insider, he’s convinced he will make the move to the Emirates this summer.
We could see multiple Newcastle players head through the exit door during the summer transfer window after a disappointing season for Eddie Howe’s side.
The Magpies have struggled in the Premier League with a number of their so-called key players underperforming.
Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, and Nick Woltemade are some of the names who are being linked with departures ahead of the summer.
Newcastle need to reshape their squad with their performances going stale, and Arsenal could be there to take advantage.
Arsenal Eyeing Newcastle Star
According to Insider Hand of Arsenal, the Gunners aren’t interested in Newcastle defender Tino Livramento ahead of the summer transfer window.
“Finally, like last summer, multiple targets are being spoken to for each position. One of these players is Livramento who is convinced he is joining Arsenal. I must stress we have not made any contact with Newcastle so there is no current indication he is our top target.”
The England international is convinced he will join the club later this year, though Arsenal are yet to make contact with Newcastle.
Livramento, who has been described as ‘phenomenal’, has endured a difficult season with Newcastle, not only due to their struggles performance-wise, but also due to his injury troubles.
Arsenal Need to be Wary of Livramento
Livramento’s injury situation should be a huge worry for any club showing an interest in signing him in the summer transfer window.
The former Southampton right back has missed 32 games already this season, while he’s missed 96 throughout his career, despite being just 23 years old.
Arsenal already have Jurrien Timber and Ben White as their right-back options at the moment, so unless one of them is heading through the exit door, it doesn’t make an awful lot of sense to bring in Livramento.
There’s no doubt he’s an incredibly talented right back with huge potential, but the injury problems have to be a concern.
